The HY8436 is an active matrix RGB LED driver with independent channel control, designed for driving up to 36 LEDs (12 RGB Pixels). The device supports 4 low-resistance high-side switches and 9 low-side current sinks that can deliver up to 12mA of continuous current per channel. The driver has 16-bit gray scale PWM, 4-bit global brightness control and 8-bit local brightness control of each low-side LED current sink.
Each current sink can be individually controlled through the two-wire control interface, but also has the capability to be controlled with a single value over the global brightness control register.
Full protections are included, including build-in LED open/short detection for each channel and device thermal shutdown.
