The ANX6589 is a high perfomance DC-DC converter with dual output to generate a positive and negative voltage supply optimized for small to medium size thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal displays (LCD’s) up to 12” at least. The two output rails are usually connected to the source driver IC.
The device integrates a synchronous boost converter and an inverting charge pump converter, with the input voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V, the ANX6589 is suitable for single-cell battery operated products. It uses the single inductor scheme to provide the smallest solution size with high efficiency.
The ANX6589 offers internal soft-start to reduce inrush current. It also includes several protection functions for abnormal operation like thermal shutdown, short-circuit protection, over-current protection, under-voltage protection, and programmable turn-off discharge function.
The ANX6589 is convinient to use and requires very few external components. It is availiable in 15-Ball WCSP package or WQFN3x4-20L package which reduce board size and make FPC or PCB layout design easier.
